Lost/Stolen iPads

It is important to move swiftly on the loss or theft of a school iPad to maximise its safe return. It is also important that the iPad is regularly charged and backed up.

PLEASE FOLLOW THE STEPS BELOW AS SOON AS POSSIBLE


STEP 1:


You must report your lost or stolen iPad to school by emailing RSiPads@rs.rklt.co.uk (with a copy to IT Services at helpdesk@rklt.co.uk) within 2 days of loss. This includes during the school holidays.

NOTE: For Stolen iPads to be covered under the repair service a Police Crime Incident Number MUST be provided.


STEP 2:


If you believe your iPad has been left in school please go to Student Reception/Main Reception to see if the iPad has been handed in. If it has not, please go to see the IT Services team to see if they can locate it/lock it.


STEP 3:


If you are certain the iPad has been permanently lost (includes stolen iPads) then please complete a repair form and pay a double repair fee via the online payment system.  If the iPad is not covered under the repair service you will be asked to make an additional payment to cover the full cost to the school, before the replacement can be issued out.

* If you plan to claim off your house insurance a receipt can be provided for your insurer please email the iPads at RSiPads@rs.rklt.co.uk


STEP 4:


Whilst your child is without their iPad they can still complete homework from home using a home PC, laptop or computer via a home internet connection and by logging into Outlook365 using their student log in details.

Cover Exclusions:

If you leave your iPad on a bus or alone in a park, take it on holiday and leave it behind, or on the plane for example, this would not be covered under our Repair Service because the iPad would have been left unattended. In these circumstances the loss is not covered by the school’s repair service and you will have to pay the school for the full cost of the replacement iPad before it can be issued out.


What if the Lost/Stolen iPad is found?:

Quite often an iPad can turn up within a couple of weeks and if this is the case and you have been provided with a replacement iPad, your lost/replacement iPad fee will be refunded when the replacement iPad is returned, The replacement iPad and all its accessories must be returned undamaged for a full refund to take place.
