Rossett School Open Day 2023

We would like to invite parents/carers and their children to come and see the school in action to experience our culture of high expectations, academic success and inclusivity.  There will be an opportunity for you to see and participate in workshops, lessons and competitions, as you and your child explore our school.   Staff will be available from each subject area to answer any questions that you may have about our exciting and unique curriculum and we would also encourage you to chat to our students, including our current Year 7s, about their experience at Rossett.

During the morning our Headteacher, Mr Milburn,  will give a presentation about the school and our educational philosophy and staff will also be available to talk about admissions, transport, extra-curricular activities, peripatetic music and SEND specialist staff will also be available.  A variety of refreshments will be available throughout the morning.

If you would like to come and see us during a normal working day, we are able to offer an opportunity to come in for a tour at either 9.00-9.45am or 10.00-10.45am on Wednesday 4 October – please click the link to book a place. Please be aware that places are limited.

As part of our vision of pursuing ‘success for everyone’, we strongly believe in offering a broad, balanced, challenging and inclusive curriculum, which caters for our students’ needs. It supports them in fulfilling their ambitions, whilst also fostering a love of learning, the skills to be successful and an understanding of how they can be healthy, safe and well-rounded citizens. This successful curriculum approach is underpinned by high expectations, high quality teaching and an emphasis on fostering positive learning behaviours from students.

Our curriculum is a knowledge-rich curriculum, which has been carefully mapped out across all subjects to develop powerful knowledge – knowledge which is systematically developed to predict, explain concepts and enable students to envisage alternatives. This knowledge is not just that prescribed by the national curriculum or by exam boards, but knowledge which allows students to gain a comprehensive understanding of the subject and foster a full appreciation for each discipline and its importance in the world. We welcome you to come and see what our curriculum can offer your child.

Parking is available in our Main Car Park from the Green Lane entrance and our Sports Centre carpark on Pannal Ash Road, and will be signposted.
