Acoustic Night

Congratulations on a fantastic performance to all of our students who took part in our Acoustic Night last night. Our thanks go to those parents/carers and family members who attended and provided a warm and enthusiastic audience. It was a brilliant evening with lots of 'stand out' performances  with music ranging from Taylor Swift to Sonny Rollins, and all points in between.

It was great to see students performing both as soloists and as part of our extracurricular groups from Year 7 all the way through to Year 13. The Music Department would like to say a special thank you to Patrick Fleming (Year 13) who took up the baton of conductor of our Concert Band; it was his last concert here at Rossett and we wish him the best of luck in the future.  As ever, our thanks go to Mr Durbin and supporting staff who made last night's performance possible.

Drama Department news...

Last week over 25 members of staff went to Harrogate Theatre to watch a performance of 'Sister Act'  which stared our very own Drama teacher, Mrs Buxey. It was great to see some of our former students treading the boards too, displaying such amazing talent. We were delighted that lots of  current Rossett students and their families attended the performances and we hope, if you managed to attend, you enjoyed it as much as we did.

High School MusicalAlso last week, Mrs McLurg hosted a rewards evening for over 60 students who have given outstanding commitment to rehearsals for our school production of High School Musical JR. The students  enjoyed a 'movie and treat night'  and they all had a fantastic, fun evening.  We will provide more information about the performances and how to get tickets shortly.
