On Wednesday, we revealed that this year's Summer production is Grease! The students were very excited. We can't wait to dig out the leather jackets and head to Rydell High. Watch this space for more details.

Rossett Adult Learning are offering a five week Babysitting and Paediatric First Aid course for Year 8 to 11 students starting on Monday 24th February from 6.30pm to 8.00pm, taught by our very own First Aid Lead Ms Rogers. The course will take place in school in the LRC and the cost is £40.
This is a great way to gain confidence for babysitting and learn new skills. The course content will include important and useful issues around babysitting such as: the rights of the family and the babysitter, accident prevention, baby care skills and child protection issues, personal safety, and dealing with home emergencies. Students will learn essential first aid including the recovery position, infant and child resuscitation, choking, dealing with injuries and defibrillator training.
On successful completion of the course students will receive a St John's Ambulance Part 1 First Aid and CPR certificate, and a certificate in babysitting competency.
Today, some of our Sixth Form students took part in a half-day Mental Health First Aid training session. The cost of the qualification and resources was funded by the Ostrich Foundation and the course was delivered by Pat Sowa.
This vital training helps equip young people with the skills to support themselves and others, breaking down barriers around mental health and promoting well-being.
Thank you to the Ostrich Foundation for supporting such an important initiative and a special thank you to Pat Sowa who kindly gave her time free of charge.

We're creating a new wall display with the theme, 'How Learning a Language is Life Changing' and we would like our students to send us their inspirational ideas.
Quotes can be submitted to office@rs.rklt.co.uk by 12th February.

We are holding a Valentine’s Day cake stall on Friday 14th February to raise more funds for our Heart of the Community campaign – cake donations are very welcome!

Don't forget to buy your ticket for the Rossett PTA Annual Quiz Night on Friday 7th March!

Well done to all the students who received a Headteacher's Award this week.
These students have been nominated by members of staff for exemplifying Rossett School's 5Rs culture of learning:

Back in November, BBC News filmed some of our students for a documentary exploring the impact of smartphones on young people's mental health.
While our students were filmed anonymously, they were excited to be involved and the segment aired on breakfast tv and on the lunchtime and evening news earlier this week.
Please refer to our Respectful Relationships & Behaviour policy for details about Rossett's mobile phone policy.
