The RS15 BUS Challenge Continues

On the Bewerley Park residential last week, our Year 7s took on the RS15 BUS Challenge after our Senior Leadership Team passed on the...registration plate! Who will take on the challenge next?!

So far we've raised just over £2,300, thank you to everyone who has donated so far! We are aiming for a massive £15,000 so we still have a way to go, please donate via Arbor or our GoFundMe page if you can by clicking here

We would also appreciate it if you could like and share our social media posts to help us spread the word! Thank you!

Eyes Down for the PTA Bingo Night!

We're all set for our PTA Bingo Night on Friday 13th March from 7 to 9pm.

Mrs Phelps, our staff PTA rep, and Mr Tatterton, our resident bingo caller, are very grateful for the anonymous donation of raffle prizes. Please keep the donations coming if you can. All proceeds from the raffle will go towards our minibus fundraiser!

Bingo tickets are just £5 each, available on Arbor. See you there!

Thank You to Saltergate Schools

A huge thank you to Saltergate Schools for organising a fantastic cake stall last week to support our minibus fundraiser! They raised an incredible £284!

As you can see, they received a lot of cake donations and we hear they were quickly sold out. We are very grateful to everyone who helped make this happen, what amazing community spirit, thank you!

Celebrating World Down Syndrome Day 2026

We are very proud to support Amelie in Year 11 by celebrating World Down Syndrome Day 2026.

As the day falls on a Saturday this year, we'll be wearing our odd socks with pride on Friday 20th March.

Amelie will also be running a cake stall at breaktime that day. Cake donations are very welcome! And Amelie has kindly asked that all money raised goes towards our minibus fundraiser which is lovely, thank you Amelie!

Get your odd socks ready!

Raising Awareness of County Lines Exploitation

On Tuesday, we welcomed back author and education campaigner Christina Gabbitas to school to speak to our students. Christina has been working alongside North Yorkshire Policy since 2021 to help educate children and young people about the dangers of county lines exploitation and associated crime through storytelling.

Christina spoke about the research behind her writing and shared the Missing animation, which explores the realities of county lines and the impact it can have on young people and their families. Students were given the opportunity to ask questions and reflect on the topic and Christina kindly gifted all students with printed copies of the story.

To raise further awareness, students are invited to take part in a poetry competition to have their work published. Imogen in Year 11 had her poem Blades of Silence published after being inspired by one of Christina's previous visits. For more information about the competition, please visit Christina's website here

Chef for a Day - Attendance Award

To further promote a positive culture around attendance, we are pleased to introduce an exciting new initiative: Chef for a Day - Attendance Award.

Students with high attendance could win the chance to collaborate with our school chef to design and prepare a special dish and have it featured on the school lunch menu!

This academic year, the initiative will run for Years 9 to 11 and there will be one chef experience session per year group per term. Where more than one student achieves equal attendance, the winner will be chosen at random.

This is a fantastic opportunity. Our catering team is led by Head Chef, Steve, a highly accomplished professional with a background as an executive chef in high-end hospitality. Steve has been a valued member of the Rossett team for over 10 years now and was previously named Newcomer of the Year at the EDUcatering Excellence Awards, recognising excellence in school meals provision.

We can't wait to see what exciting dishes make it to the menu!

Money Twist

Yesterday, our Year 8 students took part in some Money Twist workshops designed to build their understanding of basic finance and help them develop confidence when managing money. Students took on a budgeting challenge where they were given a fictional monthly wage and asked to plan how they would budget their money for the month. This encouraged them to think very carefully about spending and saving!
