Rossett News Update - 4 July 2025

It's Been Electrifyin'!!

That's a wrap on this year's Summer production, Grease, after two amazing evening performances plus matinee shows for local primary schools and our own Year 7s. Everyone involved has worked their socks off for months and we are so proud of our students for their commitment and talent!

Wednesday night's performance was bittersweet as we said goodbye to our amazing Year 11 stars who juggled rehearsals and GCSEs like true professionals.

Huge thanks to the incredible staff who made it all happen, especially Mrs McLurg who was hopelessly devoted (we couldn't resist that one!!) to making it a big success.

Thank you to everyone who's donated to our stage lighting fundraiser - thanks to your generosity, the new lighting system was installed just in time for the show! We've raised £475 so far but we are still welcoming any support to help cover the cost. If you would like to contribute, click here

Dancing the Night Away

Last week, our Year 11s celebrated the end of exam season with their prom at Cedar Court Hotel. The venue looked fantastic, the students arrived in style, dressed to impress, and had a fab night. There were some sore feet the next day!

Thank you to our amazing Year 11 team for making the evening so memorable for our students.

Battlefields Trip 2025

A group of Year 9 & 10 students have arrived safely in Ypres for the annual Battlefields trip.

They have visited several significant WW1 sites. At Langemark German Cemetery, Conor laid a wreath in remembrance of the fallen German soldiers. The group also visited the ‘Shot at Dawn’ post in Poperinge and explored the preserved trench network at Hill 62.

At Essex Farm Cemetery, the group discovered the grave of a local lad from Harrogate and laid an explanation of his life and death at his resting place for others to read. They also visited the Brooding Soldier Monument, honouring Canadian troops who faced the first gas attack of the war. A particularly moving moment came when Jacob located the grave of his great-great-grandfather, who died in WW2.
