Rossett News Update - 30th January 2026
WE ARE ALLIES!
All week we have been celebrating Allies Week and have been filming messages of support for the LGBTQ+ community.
Thank you to everyone who took part in the video, supported today's cake stall or wore a rainbow accessory. And a big thank you to Mr Elcock for all his hard work in raising awareness and support!
We raised £180 which will be split between two charities, Stonewall and Just Like Us!
Young Citizen Award Winners
We are really proud of two of our students, Akshay and Victoria, who have both received the Rotary Club of Harrogate Young Citizen Award which recognises outstanding young people across the Harrogate area.
The awards celebrate positive citizenship, community service and leadership. Akshay and Victoria are such deserving recipients who make a difference and contribute positively to their communities.
Congratulations!

Minibus Fundraiser
We are almost at £1,000 which is amazing! Please keep the donations coming!

National Apprenticeship Week at Rossett
National Apprenticeship Week (NAW) is the biggest celebration of apprenticeships and skills in the calendar - and it’s back from Monday 9th to Sunday 15th February 2026.
Now in its 19th year, NAW highlights how apprenticeships and skills open doors to exciting and rewarding careers, especially for young people entering employment for the first time.
On Monday the 9th of February, Harrogate College will join us at lunchtime to talk to any students who would like to find out more about the courses and apprenticeships available with Harrogate College, ask questions, or follow-up on existing applications.

Our Very Own Allstar
Our very own Ruby in Year 13 has been selected to compete at the 2026 Allstar World Championship in Florida as part of Unity Allstars Leeds' international cheerleading team! This is a fantastic achievement and Ruby is working hard to raise the funds needed to attend.
To support this, Ruby is holding a cake stall on Tuesday 3rd February at breaktime. She would be very grateful for any contributions - cakes, brownies, cookies, traybakes or other treats. All proceeds will go directly towards helping Ruby get to the World Championships!
The cake stall will be cash only - we look forward to supporting Ruby and her fundraising efforts!

There will be a raffle on the night and we would be very grateful for prize donations. If you have a spare bottle of wine or box of chocolates, please drop them into school. If you own a business and could donate a voucher or unique item, please let us know!
