Rossett News Update - 27th March 2026
An Easter Message from Mr Milburn
As we reach the end of term, today’s assembly has been an important moment to recognise and celebrate the hard work, commitment and achievement of our students. Many students received awards today and it was with great pride that we were able to congratulate them for their efforts.
During the assembly, I also spoke about our old minibus – the one we are aiming to replace. It has travelled an astonishing 50,428 miles, which is roughly the distance of circumnavigating the globe twice.
Last year, in PE alone, it transported 585 students to fixtures, competitions and events. And that’s only within one department. Our minibus is used almost every single day , safely carrying students from school to new places and back again. It provides unique opportunities beyond our school walls, helping pupils discover new interests, nurture their skills and build their character.
Our minibus benefits not only our school but also the wider community. We use it to bring primary pupils to events, assist local schools with transport, and ensure opportunities are shared as widely as possible.
As we head into the Easter holidays, I am pleased to report that, thanks to everyone’s efforts today, we have raised a significant sum towards the purchase of a new minibus and the total now stands at over £4,419! I would like to express my gratitude to all who have contributed to our campaign – whether by donating spreading the word, or joining our events. Your support truly makes a difference. There are still further fundraisers to come, including the Auction of Promises in June, please click here for more details. Next term will also see the return of the sponsored walk.
Thank you once again for your continued support and I wish you all a safe, restful and enjoyable Easter break.
Easter Fair
Today’s Easter Fair raised over £620 for our minibus fundraiser, a fantastic achievement! There was something for everyone, including a cake stall, archery, Easter egg lotto, splat the rat, and more, and students thoroughly enjoyed every minute.
A huge thank you to our Student Council and Mr Grainger for organising!
