Rossett News Update - 24th April 2026

Auction of Promises

We are revving up for our Auction of Promises on 12th June to support our minibus fundraiser. One of the prizes you can bid on is a chauffeur-driven journey with Milbus Taxi Services

Please support us if you can by donating a promise...this could be anything from an afternoon of gardening, a haircut, dog walking, help with DIY or even hosting a dinner party.

We would also be grateful if you could help us spread the word! We've already reached out to local media, including Your Harrogate, and would love as much community support as possible.

Tickets are just £5 each on Arbor and include a complimentary drink, bidding paddle, and entry to the raffle. We hope to see you there!

Thank You Mrs Sarjeant

A huge thank you and well done to Mrs Sarjeant who completed the Manchester Marathon this weekend alongside her husband. Together they raised a fantastic £225 for our minibus campaign.

This brings our current total to over £4,700!

If you'd like to support our minibus fundraiser, please come along to our Auction of Promises on 12th June or visit our GoFundMe page here

Sponsored Walk 2026

This week, all year groups attended a launch assembly to prepare for our sponsored walk on Friday 10th July.

Funds raised will be shared between our minibus campaign and The Sibling Group, our chosen charity this year. The Sibling Group offers vital support to children who have a disabled brother or sister and provides a day centre for adults with the most complex needs. The day centre, Oscar's Pathway, will shortly be moving to our very own Hunter block which we are thrilled about.

More information will be coming home in the weeks ahead. If you're able to support us, please visit our GoFundMe page here

UN Spanish Language Day

Thursday was UN Spanish Language Day, a global event that promotes cultural diversity and recognises the history and culture of the Spanish language. The day honours Spanish writer Miguel de Cervantes, and coincidentally marks the passing of William Shakespeare. It was also St George's Day!

Some of our Year 8 students have been exploring the life and work of Cervantes and were proud to share their work.

Farewell to our American Exchange Partners

Our American Exchange students from both Falmouth Middle School and Rossett have had a fantastic week.

The American students have experienced a day in the life of a Rossett student, and visited Knaresborough, Whitby and York. They head home on Monday and we hope they've had an unforgettable time.

A big thank you to Mr Elcock, Ms MacDonald, Ms Skillin and Mr Fox for supporting the exchange, and to our host families for their generosity.

If any current Year 8 students would be interested in next year's exchange, they can speak to Mr Elcock in school to find out more!
