Year 10 Work Experience - June 2027

Our Year 10 work experience week will take place from 14th to 18th June 2027 and it's never too early to start thinking about a placement for your child. We would encourage our Year 10 families to start exploring opportunities as soon as possible. For further information, please contact our lovely Careers Team at: wainwrighte@rs.rklt.co.uk

Before then, our annual Careers Fair will be taking place on Wednesday 9th December, giving students the opportunity to meet a range of exhibitors including universities, the Army, hotel groups, and local businesses.

Both are great opportunities to help our students think about their future.

Well Done to our U14 Netballers

Our Under 14 netball team took part in the Harrogate and Area Tournament last week, showing great resilience and team spirit.

They represented Rossett brilliantly, as always!

Autumn Music Concert

Thank you to everyone who joined us for last night's Autumn Music Concert. It was a lovely way to end this half term and a special final concert for Mr Milburn.

A big thank you to our Music Department for organising another fantastic evening, and to all our talented students!

Rossett PTA Update

It's been a great start to the year for the Rossett PTA, with five new members joining the team and more than £500 raised at their first fundraising event of the school year, the recent Bingo Night. All funds raised go directly towards supporting the school.

Over recent years, the PTA has made a significant contribution to school life, helping to fund a wide range of equipment and opportunities for our students, including:

  • £3,000 towards the school minibus fund
  • £360 for football kits and £600 for personalised netball dresses
  • £335 for headphones and splitters for the Music Department
  • £1,000 towards new stage lighting
  • £520 for cooking equipment to support students across all year groups in the LSC
  • A contribution towards a Year 9 Enterprise workshop
  • £1,000 towards the Year 10 work experience programme
  • A £300 reader pen to support students in exams
  • Treats for the Year 11 maths intervention club

The PTA hopes to build on this support throughout 2026/27 and welcomes anyone who would like to get involved. Their next meeting is on Monday 16th November at 6.30pm at The Curious Cow.

And please save the date:

  • 12th November - Year 7 Disco
  • 26th November - Wreath Making Night
  • 4th December - Quiz Night
  • 12th March - Bingo Night
  • 7th May - Quiz Night

Places for the wreath making are limited so early booking is recommended! Tickets are just £35 each and can be purchased on Arbor.

If you would like to support the PTA in other ways, voluntary donations can be made via Arbor and good-quality second-hand school uniform can be brought into school for resale. The money raised directly benefits our students.

Thank you to our PTA and everyone who supports their fundraising efforts!

Year 11 Orchestra Visit

Last Friday, our Year 11 music students travelled to Manchester for a concert of orchestral music covering pieces from 1600 to the 21st Century, titled 'The Orchestra Through the Ages'.

The concert was very engaging, with interesting facts about each piece and composer, alongside some brilliant performances, including the theme from Pirates of the Caribbean!

Poppy Appeal 2026

From Monday 2nd November, some of our Year 8 students will be visiting form rooms during afternoon form time to sell poppies in support of the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.
