Oscar's Pathway at Rossett

We are delighted to be able to support The Sibling Group with the use of our Hunter block.

As our chosen charity this year, it means a lot to us to work alongside them and they have some fantastic plans for the space, both inside and out.

Year 11 Students Lend a Hand

A big thank you to Mrs Hughes and her Year 11 form for helping to make the front of school look lovely now spring is in full bloom!

During form time on Tuesday, they replanted the pots and hanging baskets at our main entrance, all whilst proudly wearing their new leavers' hoodies which look fantastic.

Chef for a Day

Congratulations to Elijah in Year 9 who has won our first Chef for a Day Attendance Award!

Elijah is one of our students with the highest attendance and he won the chance to collaborate with our school chefs to design and prepare a special dish and have it featured on today's school lunch menu as the Chef's Special.

Elijah's dish was a creamy chicken and chorizo pasta bake and it proved very popular.

This initiative will continue to run for Years 10 and 11 and we can't wait to see what other exciting dishes make it to the menu!

Year 13 Students Take Part in Auschwitz Project

We are extremely proud of two of our Year 13 History students, Jacob and Nicole, who have recently represented Rossett in the nationally recognised Lessons from Auschwitz project. This initiative aims to educate young people about the atrocities of the Holocaust, while empowering participants to become ambassadors for Holocaust education within their schools and wider communities.

As part of the programme, our students took part in a series of seminars exploring the historical context of the Holocaust, the events leading up to it, and its lasting impact. On Thursday 5th March, these sessions culminated in a day visit to the Auschwitz‑Birkenau concentration camp in Poland. The visit provided a powerful first‑hand opportunity to reflect on the realities of the Holocaust and the importance of remembrance.

Throughout the project, our students conducted themselves with maturity, sensitivity and respect, representing Rossett superbly. They have now completed the final stage of the programme by writing an article reflecting on their experiences.
