Rossett News Update - 14th November 2025
Thank You to the Harrogate & District Soroptimists
We would like to say a huge thank you to Soroptimist International Harrogate & District for their incredible support and generosity over the past two years.
They have raised more than £7,500 to fund additional Just 'B' emotional health and wellbeing support for our students which has enabled an extra half day each week of dedicated wellbeing provision.
We are extremely grateful for their ongoing commitment to supporting young people.
Konichiwa to our Japanese Visitors
After a six-year pause, we are very excited to be re-launching our long-standing Japanese Exchange and on Monday we'll be welcoming staff and students from Ishigami Junior High School in Minamisoma, North-Eastern Japan.
Thanks to the family of one of our previous head teachers, Mr Kennerley, we now have some photos from the first Japanese exchange back in 1987!

Oh Yes It Is!
We are very excited for our Year 7 panto trip in January to see Jack and the Beanstalk at Harrogate Theatre. Their rehearsals are in full swing and it already looks like a fantastic production.
Thank you to everyone who has signed up so far. We've extended the deadline until Monday so please provide your consent and payment via Arbor as soon as possible. This is a trip for the whole year group and we don't want anyone to miss out!
Languages Club Magazine
The Languages Club has been working hard on their latest magazine and have been enthusiastic about celebrating 'El Día de los Muertos', the Day of the Dead, which originates from ancient Mesoamerican traditions, particularly those of the Aztecs who honoured the dead with month-long rituals. It is now celebrated primarily on 1st and 2nd November in Mexico and by communities worldwide and is a vibrant, joyful tribute to deceased loved ones and the belief that the spirits return to reunite with the living during these days.
The Club created their own ofrenda with cempasúchil and velas, and cuadros inspired by family members they wanted to remember (and characters from Coco!). They also ate plenty of caramelos too!

Poppy Appeal 2025
Thank you to our Student Leadership Council for selling poppies to staff and students over the past week in support of the Royal British Legion's Poppy Appeal. They did an excellent job representing our school community.
Due to the weather, our Remembrance Service today was held via Teams. Thank you to all our students for being so respectful throughout the service.
Anti-Bullying Week
We wore our odd socks with pride today to celebrate what makes us all unique. Thank you to all our students and staff who took part!
