Year 6 Induction Days
Our new Year 7s have had a fantastic start during their two-day induction at Rossett. They've taken part in a variety of lessons (of course we got the Bunsen burners out in Science!!) and spent time in their dedicated outdoor space.
It’s been a great opportunity for them to meet everyone in their form groups and settle into their new environment.
We gathered everyone together to form a giant 2030, captured by drone, because they are our Class of 2030. We're excited to see what their future holds.

Sponsored Walk Update
Well done to 8PRN for being the top fundraising form and raising the most overall! Our top individual fundraisers by year group were: Amelie T in Year 7, Luke H in Year 8, Torren L-T in Year 9 and Joseph T in Year 10.
Congratulations to our overall top fundraiser, Amelie T in Year 7!
Prizes for our top fundraisers included a free place on the Flamingo Land trip, free meal tokens for Flamingo Land and free school meals for a fortnight.
Thank you to every student for working hard to raise money, and thank you to everyone who donated!
Battlefields Trip
Our students returned from the Battlefields Trip after four fantastic and busy days in Belgium and France.
They explored the Passchendaele Museum where they experienced what life in the trenches was really like and, at Tyne Cot Cemetery, they found graves of Yorkshire soldiers and saw how many are still unidentified. They attended the moving Last Post ceremony at the Menin Gate, where Lilly and Esme laid a wreath on Rossett's behalf.
At the Sunken Lane, the group stood exactly where soldiers waited on the morning of 1st July 1916, making the nearby cemetery especially poignant. They visited the Hawthorn Ridge crater, Thiepval Memorial, and paid tribute to Donald Simpson Bell, a VC recipient and relative of one of our students. At Newfoundland Park, they walked original trenches and learned about the devastating losses of the Newfoundland Regiment. Our students also went to Vimy Ridge with its Canadian memorial and underground tunnels.
They rounded off the trip with the obligatory visit to a chocolate factory where everyone (over)indulged in some lovely Belgian chocolate! It was a moving and memorable trip.

Garden Restoration
Over the past few months, we have been working hard to restore the sensory garden and create a dedicated area in memory of former Rossett students who are no longer with us. We are pleased to share that the restoration is now complete.
This space will provide an outdoor learning environment for students, as well as a peaceful setting to support wellbeing and reflection for the whole school community.
We would like to thank GH Brooks & Co (Harrogate) Ltd and Jewson Ltd for their generous donation of gravel which helped us complete the project. Their support is appreciated.
Thank you also to our local residents and wider school community for their encouragement and support throughout the project, you have helped us create a space that will benefit both current and future Rossett students.

Millie Shines on Stage
Fresh from her standout performance as Rizzo in our school production of Grease, Year 11 student Millie has continued to impress, this time on an international stage.
Millie recently travelled to Spain with her dance team to compete in a prestigious international competition. In the junior section (ages 13–18), they placed an outstanding 6th out of 20 top dance schools, securing a spot in the on-stage announcements.
The team went on to perform again in the senior category, competing against 25 dance troupes (including adult dancers), and achieved 7th place, just 0.1 marks away from the top six.
A brilliant achievement — well done, Millie! We’re all incredibly proud.

Well done to all the students who received a Headteacher's Award this week.
