Restart a Heart Day 2025

On Thursday 16th October, our Year 7 students took part in Restart a Heart Day, with some of our Year 9 students also learning vital CPR skills.

These life-saving skills can make a real difference in an emergency, and our students listened carefully and asked thoughtful questions, showing lots of enthusiasm throughout the day.

A huge thank you to the Yorkshire Ambulance Service staff for giving up their time to run the morning, as well as our recently retired Miss Rogers and the First Aid Team students, who supported the session and helped everything run smoothly.

We also ran a Restart a Heart cake stall, raising over £175 to support the maintenance of our community defibrillators and the Restart a Heart charity.

Restart a Heart Day is just one part of our ongoing commitment to CPR education and community health. This was recognised last year when the school became the first in the region to achieve the Heart of the Community Gold Award.

Events like this demonstrate the importance of teamwork, quick thinking, and community spirit, giving students the skills and confidence to make a difference in an emergency.
