Simon Asker

Simon has worked in education for over 35 years as a class teacher (primary) and middle leader as well as having two senior management / school leader roles in 3 - 18 settings in the independent sector.

In the early part of his career Simon worked abroad as a VSO volunteer in Ulaanbattar, Mongolia and also Taiwan where he ran a kindergarten in an international school.

Throughout his career Simon has had a particular interest in English, promoting reading for pleasure and raising the status of school libraries. He works as the school librarian in Rossett school and values this role greatly as it allows him to talk (endlessly!) to students about books and why everyone should try and read more. 

Simon can usually be found in the library tidying shelves and recommending authors to anyone who will listen to him.
