Rossett News Update - 10 February 2023
It has been fantastic to see the standards at Rossett rise this half term as we have worked together as a group of parents, carers, staff, students, and governors to ensure we are moving towards excellence for every child. Thank you for your support of the school at this crucial time.

Non-Uniform day
Thank you to all who donated money for two important causes today. Students were allowed to wear their own clothes in lieu of a donation towards the humanitarian crisis appeal following the earthquake in Turkey and Syria, and also to the 'Go Fund Me' page for Reuben and Fraser, who were injured in a road traffic accident last week. We have raised £1736 which will be split between these two very worthwhile causes.
Sixth Form Taster Day
On Wednesday 8th February 2023, Year 11 students experienced a day in the life of Rossett Sixth Form. Students attended in professional business dress and took advantage of our fantastic Sixth Form café throughout the day. Students had an introduction assembly from Mr Keyworth (Head of Sixth Form) and our Head Prefects Amber Munns and Adam Caswell.
Students then attended taster sessions in their favoured subjects to study at Rossett Sixth Form in either A Level or Level 3 BTEC qualifications. Students also had sessions for Core Maths, EPQ and a ‘Life in Sixth Form’ session in the Study Room. Students are reminded to confirm their place at Rossett Sixth Form by completing the form via this link. Details are also given on the offer letters sent home following the student’s Sixth Form interviews.
Thank you to all of the Year 11 students for attending, and to the current Sixth Form students who acted as Ambassadors on the day. Sixth Form Mock Exams Results Day
Both Year 12 and Year 13 students completed their Mock Examinations during week commencing 23rd January 2023. Year 13 students collected their results today in a mock 'results day' in the Sixth Form Study Room. Well done to all of the students and we look forward to welcoming Year 13 students back in the study room for the real results day on 17th August 2023.

PTA Quiz Night
We were delighted to welcome parents, carers, students and teachers to our annual quiz night last Friday which was another fantastic evening of fun and entertainment. Teams of up to 8 people were quizzed on music, cinema, video games, general knowledge and popular culture, as well as a picture round. A fish and chip supper was provided and we would like to thank the PTA and quiz master Mr Lee, and also Mrs McFarlane and Mr Pears for helping with the quiz questions.

Final reminder: Pre-loved Uniform Sale
We are pleased to let you know that we are hosting a pre-loved uniform sale on Tuesday 14 February. Please come to Reception and call 01423 700953 if you would like to view our stock or try anything on. Good quality used uniform call also be dropped off on this day. More details to follow regarding the timing of this next week.
