Rossett News Update - 7 December 2018

Sixth Form Information Evening

Last night we welcomed students and their parents in Year 11 to our Sixth Form Information Evening.  Following presentations by the Headteacher, the Head of Sixth Form and our Head Girl and Boy, the Subject Fair in the Sixth Form Centre provided detailed information about the courses and enrichment opportunities on offer at Rossett School.  Sixth Form Ambassadors were available throughout the evening and talked about their many and varied experiences in the Sixth Form.  If you were unable to attend, or if you are an external student applying for Rossett Sixth Form, and would like to receive information about our fantastic provision please contact hgrabham@rossettschool.co.uk.  Please note that the Sixth Form application deadline is Friday 14 December and forms can be accessed here.

By taking part in the woolly fun and donating £2, Rossett students and staff will be giving children in the UK and around the world the chance to build a better future.

Rossett School Sports Tour 2020

Students have had the opportunity to ask for a letter this week if they are interested in taking part in the Rossett School Sports Tour in 2020 to London.  We have offered this very successful trip for a number of years, but this is the first year we will not be going to Norfolk, instead taking Rossett's Sports Teams to the capital.  The tour will consist of games against other schools and will include taking part in additional educational ativities.

Rossett students will compete against Salesian School and Onslow St. Audreys School in a variety of sporting fixtures.  The trip will also include a Wembley Football Stadium tour and a visit to the Ninja Warrior UK Aqua Park, as well a visit to the Natural History Museum. The tour will depart on Thursday 2 April 2020 and will return on Sunday 5 April 2020 -  the total cost of the tour is £365 including transport, accommodation, most meals and all activities. This tour is currently open to next year’s Year 8s and 9s (current Year 7 and 8) only.  Please see  here for the full itinerary. If your child is interested in this trip please complete the reply slip on the letter here and return to the PE Department by  Friday 1 February 2019.

Hockey club 1Co-curricular 'Club of the Week'

Each week we are highlighting a 'club of the week' from our co-curricular activities offer at Rossett.  This week it is the Year 7 girls' hockey group, who meet after school on Thursdays.  This new group have impressed our newest member of staff (and hockey expert) Miss Goacher with their developing skills and all-round enthusiasm for the game.  Many of the girls haven't played hockey before and are really improving week-on-week.  Well done girls! If you would like to join this team then please contact Mrs Temple or Miss Goacher in the PE Office.
