Rossett News Update - 19 October 2018

Sept surpriseSeptember Surprise Concert

Congratulations to everyone who took part in the September Surprise Concert last night – it was a fantastic evening with a variety of musicians taking part.  Year 7 students excelled with Arlo Collins playing the piano, Megan Rowlands singing a solo from ‘Matilda’ and Harry Lea was fabulous on the trombone. Well done too to the Year 7 mass choir who gave a wonderful performance as did all our musicians from other year groups. Harvey Kennedy in Year 10 was MC for the evening and did a super job too!

Re-Start a Heart DayRe-start heart

On Tuesday, we marked The British Heart Foundation ‘Re-start a Heart’ day with a number of activities.  All Year 7 students were given CPR training from our First Aid & Health Manager, assisted by our First Aid Ambassadors.  CPR demonstrations also took place over both lunchtimes and all students watched the ‘Mini-Vinnie’ video – equipping our students with vital skills which might one day save lives.

Visit to the Japanese Gardens, Valley Gardens, HarrogateJapan

On Wednesday Rossett students were invited to attend the opening ceremony of the Japanese Gardens in the Valley Gardens, Harrogate. These students were involved with the design of the graphics for the Friends of Valley Gardens leaflet, publicising this prestigious restoration project.

Ambassador Tsuruoka, Japanese Ambassador to the UK, officially opened the gardens and we were delighted that Sam Corazzi’s (Year 10) design was chosen by the Friends of Valley Gardens group.
