Rossett News Update - 14 December 2018
Christmas Jumper Day
We have seen some fantastic Christmas jumpers today and have raised over £1700 for Save the Children, giving hope for a brighter future to children around the world. Thank you to everyone who joined in and donated.
Poppy Appeal
We would like to say 'thank you' to everybody who supported our various events for the annual poppy appeal. This year we marked 100 years since Armistice and the end of the First World War in a number of ways; part of this was students selling poppies in school. We raised over £270 for the Royal British Legion in this way.
Year 7 Christmas Disco
Over 110 Year 7 students attended the PTA's Year 7 Christmas Disco held at Rossett School on Thursday evening. DJ Dent, a former Rossett student, provided the music and the event was a great success and enjoyed by all - particularly the glow sticks! Thank you to the PTA for organising this event and to the Sixth Form students who helped on the evening.
End of Term
Tuesday 18 and Wednesday 19 December our talented Catering Team will be presenting our Christmas menu. Christmas lunch on these days will be served by the Senior Leadership Team (in their festive hats!) in our Main Dining Hall. | |

Co-curricular 'Club of the Week'
Our co-curricular club of the week is the Design Technology Lego group, who meet every Tuesday (early lunch) in room T4. The group, which is open to boys and girls in Years 7,8 and 9, have been busy building and programming Lego Mindstorm robots. The robots are able to perform a series of tasks, such as climbing ramps and collecting components. The students have also been testing the speed of their creations! The group are hoping to compete in the annual Lego Mindstorm competition next Spring where their robots will be put to the test against those from other schools in the region. If you would like to join this club then please contact Mrs Phelps/Mrs Shepherd in the Technology Office.
