ROSSETT NEWS UPDATE - 22 NOV 2024
iPad Repairs
Students should no longer visit the Finance Office in regard to iPads. All broken iPads should be handed into Student Reception. When the repair fee and form are paid, and the iPad is being sent off, a loan iPad will be issued via Student Services and an email sent home to advise you of this. Any repaired iPads will follow the same process and be issued back via Student Reception.
Winter Warmer Christmas Concert
Our annual Winter Warmer Christmas Concert is on Thursday 12th December and will be an evening of music from our talented students. There will be a few festive numbers on the programme and festive snacks will also be available. This year we will also be inviting local primary school children to come along during the day for a sneak preview.
Tickets are £4 each and are going on sale from Friday 29th November via SCOPAY.
Yorkshire to Ukraine
Please keep those donations coming for the Yorkshire to Ukraine appeal - anything that you would find useful if you were evacuated from your home to a place of safety.
Food, blankets, bedding, clothing, shoes, cleaning products, baby items, candles, camping equipment, sleeping bags, sanitary or washing products and toys. These should be in a condition that you would be happy to use, or give to your children. Thank you to everyone who has donated so far!

American Exchange 2025
There are a limited number of places still available for pupils currently in Year 8 who would like to take part in the American Exchange 2025-6. We will be visiting Maine in October 2025 and the students from Falmouth Middle School will be staying with us in April 2026.
Anyone interested should email Mr Elcock at ElcockT@rs.rklt.co.uk or collect a letter from him in the English office. This is such an amazing opportunity.
Safeguarding Information Evening
This week we held our first Parents' Assembly and were thrilled with the turnout. Safeguarding was our chosen theme with our Designated Safeguarding Lead, Deputy Headteacher Dave Royles, presenting a very clear narrative on our commitment to nurturing and enriching the lives of all students through a diverse and varied curriculum. This was supported by presentations from PCSO Martin Powell on areas that have the greatest impact on everyday student life.
We received some fantastic feedback with one parent saying:
"I feel very reassured after learning more about the safeguarding provision at Rossett, I am very grateful that Martin is coming into the school to talk to our young people about these important issues. I have been also impressed with how you cover other specific issues in PSHE lessons with them and do extra sessions with them like the recent one about consent. It helps us parents when we have conversations at home about these topics for them to have the insight from learning/discussing it at school too."
We will be running further evenings in 2025 and will post these on our website and social media.
Last Day of Term
Please remember that school will close at 2.15pm on the last day of term, Friday 20th December. The bus companies are aware.
