Rossett News Update - 18 Oct 2024

And they're off!

On Friday morning, a group of students set off from Rossett at 2:50am to start their journey to Maine, USA, for the American Exchange.  They are to due to arrive at about 10pm UK time, so still a while to go yet but we're sure that excitement levels will remain high.  We wish them a safe journey and a fabulous time!

It's Panto Time...  BATB-Web-800x450

Oh yes it is!

The Year 7 trip to see Beauty and the Beast at Harrogate Theatre is on Wednesday 8th January 2025.  We are taking all Year 7 students.  Please remember to return your reply slip by Friday 25th October at the latest.

It is a great day out, with treats for all, and is a lovely way to celebrate as a year group.

Restart a Heart

On Wednesday, over 200 Rossett students and staff members took part in the Yorkshire Ambulance Service's Restart a Heart campaign in our Learning Resource Centre.  We were joined by an NHS paramedic, who was our team leader on the day, and assisted by a community responder, emergency ambulance care assistant and some members of our very own Rossett first aid team.

A big thank you to Miss Rogers for organising the day and being so passionate about teaching our students important first aid skills.

Consent Workshops for Year 9

On 8th November, the Schools Consent Project (SCP) will be visiting our Year 9 students to talk to them about the legal definition of consent and a number of other issues faced by young people, including the age of consent, sexual offences (including image sharing and online offences), bystander intervention and ways to obtain help.

The workshops are delivered by legally trained professionals and are interactive, age appropriate and gender and sexuality inclusive, with the main aim being to empower students with the knowledge, language and confidence to give, check for, withhold and withdraw consent.

School Meals  download

Please ensure that all school meal accounts on SCOPAY are up to date and in credit prior to the end of this half term.  We appreciate your continued support with this.

Student Reception

If you need to drop anything off at school during the school day for your child, please remember to use the Student Reception in the first instance.  Miss Thompson is our lovely Student Receptionist and will make sure that all items are safely delivered.

Please also encourage your child to sign in and out at the Student Reception if they arrive at or leave school outside normal hours.
