Work Related Learning

Our aim is to allow your child to see the links between what is learnt in the classroom and the outside world. We hope this will motivate them in lessons and help them to understand how what they learn here at Rossett School will prepare them for an exciting and ever changing world.

Rossett students also have the opportunity to develop their enterprising skills beyond the classroom. With programmes such as “The Apprentice” and “Dragons’ Den” it is an exciting time to get involved in enterprise.

In recent times we have all learnt how even the largest organisations can become bankrupt. At Rossett we try to keep students one step ahead by offering them the skills and knowledge to develop an entrepreneurial flair.

Some of our successes in 2009/2010:

  • Runners up in the Yorkshire finals for the national “Make Your Mark” enterprise challenge for the third year running
  • Raising enough money to purchase a water well for a township in Eastern Africa through our Enterprise Club
  • The Enterprise Club organised a day out for 200 students to Alton Towers in July
  • We became a City and Guilds Centre and now have our own Hair Salon
  • We started a Construction course and the students were nominated for a Local Hero Award, for their Outside Learning Environment project
