Library & Resource Centre The Resource Centre offers an exciting environment for study and research. There are 34 computer stations and over 9,000 books available to help pupils find information easily and accurately.
We have a soft seating area where pupils can sit in comfort to read books, magazines and newspapers or view the large flatscreen display showing school bulletins and BBC News 24.
The Resource Centre is open for use throughout the day and also after school for pupils to work on homework, research or quiet reading. The library area has a new web-based management system - Eclipse.net giving pupils the ability to access the whole library catalogue via the Searchstar programme which is available on any computer in school.
This system also allows pupils to link directly from Searchstar to approved subject-based websites providing easy access to information using both books and internet. Our Resource Centre provides an ideal environment for study and learning and fully supports the curriculum at Rossett School.
The Fiction shelves in the Resource Centre have over 2000 books ranging from Classics to Graphic Novels. New titles, selected from the best children’s fiction, are added regularly providing an up to date and wide ranging choice for all tastes and reading abilities.
Rossett is also involved in shadowing the Carnegie Medal awarded for outstanding Children’s Literature and book testing for the Red House Children’s Book Awards.
If you are looking for a great book to read suggestions can be found on our Recommended Reads lists or ask in the Resource Centre if you would like help choosing.
