St John Ambulance CPR Award and Schools’ Defibrillator Award
Ms Rogers (First Aid & Health Manager) is offering CPR and defibrillator to students in Year 7 – Year 12. The training will take place after school on Thursdays (15.15 – 16.20) for six weeks commencing after the May half-term holiday.
This training would be useful to students wanting to take careers in the NHS, uniformed services, Cadets, baby sitters and those learning to drive and for anyone wishing to join the school’s First Aid Team.
The CPR award is certified by St John Ambulance and can be awarded at 3 levels making it suitable for all ages and abilities and the course will include:
Incident management
999/112 calls
DRs ABC
Recovery position
Choking
CPR
Defibrillators
Community CPR and defibrillator use.
End assessment at Levels 1-3.
The course is free and requires at least 5 weeks’ attendance including the last week assessment. Any students interested should sign up by Wednesday 6 June at the First Aid Office by Student Reception.
