Important Travel Information affecting Leeds Buses R61, R62, R63, R64, R65, R66
On the afternoon of Friday 4th May Stage 2 of the Tour de Yorkshire takes place in our region. The school has been informed that roads between North Leeds and Rossett will start to close from around 3-30pm onwards for the event. The men’s race starts at 2:20pm in Barnsley and is scheduled to finish in Ilkley at 6:00pm. The Leeds bus companies have informed us that there is likely to be a particular problem around the Harewood House junction with road closures and traffic congestion around the time our buses pass through the area.
Therefore on the afternoon of Friday 4th May all students who use the school’s Leeds buses will be allowed to depart school by 2.25pm. Students will be required to attend their period 5 lesson promptly at 2.10pm to be registered and will be dismissed to the buses by 2:15pm to allow the buses to leave the school site by 2:25pm, allowing good time to return to North Leeds.
For students not travelling on the school’s Leeds buses the school day will end as normal at 3:10pm with all other buses leaving the site at 3:20pm.
If you normally pick your child up from school and travel through North Leeds further information can be found on the Tour de Yorkshire website: https://letour.yorkshire.com/the-race/
There will be no late buses on Friday 4th May due to the road closures in place.
